Katie Zorn - Cardinals

We caught up with former Arizona Cardinals cheerleader Katie Zorn (1997 -2007).   She let us know what she was doing after 10 years cheering on the sidelines for the Arizona Cardinals.

 

 

 

Hello everyone!  My name is Katie Zorn.  I am a native of Mesa, Arizona and currently reside in Gilbert.  I am very proud to say that I am a 10 year Veteran of the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders.  The best 10 years of my life.  I made it when I was 18 years old and retired when I was 28.  People ask me all the time how and why did I cheer for so long? I just tell them that my passion for dance helped me get through each season and performing for a crowd of thousands of Cards fans was the most awesome and moving experience.  We have the most loyal fans in the whole NFL.  Not to mention I was doing what I love to do, DANCE!  I started dancing when I was 3 years old and I have competed all over the country in various dance competitions.  I was named State & National Queen of dance at a very young age.  That fueled my fire to pursue dance at a professional level.  I was also fortunate enough to compete on the very popular T.V. show, Star Search twice.  That was a very unique and memorable experience for sure.  I was a cheerleader during my High School years and was not ready to give up dancing when I graduated.  I tried out for Cardinals the month before I graduated and made the team.  The rest is history.  I was the 2000 Pro Bowl Representative for the Cardinals and that was truly an honor.  I was so proud that I was selected to represent my home town team that I loved and also my fellow cheer mates.  I was a member of the Show Team as well and we got to Travel to so many different countries to perform for our troops.  I have the Cardinals to thank for that amazing experience.  I would have never been able to travel the world if I was not a member of the Show Team.  To bring a smile to those soldiers’ faces was the best feeling in the world.  I love the Cardinals and the organization, and I miss it every single day since I walked out of the stadium for the last time.  I have some wonderful memories and lifelong friendships that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.  I am now pursuing a career as a fitness and dance instructor.  My goal is to open my own dance studio within the next year.  I love to inspire and teach dance and hope that I can share my passion of dance with the world.  I hope to teach my own kids someday the wonderful craft of DANCE!  I got married in 2007 to Dominic, the most wonderful man in the world.  I work full time as an Escrow Manager for a property management company and teach private dance/cheer lessons on the side.  To all of the dancers out there, Dance as though no one is watching and always follow your heart!!!!  To touch, to move, to inspire-is the true gift of dance.
